In Groningen, the Netherlands, I attended one of the most unique and intense combat sports events I’ve ever experienced — organized by Next Gen of Boxing. This event brought together men and women working in the horeca industry — restaurants, hotels, and cafés — who committed themselves to three months of serious kickboxing training… before stepping into the ring in front of a live audience. 20 fights. Real pressure. Real emotion. The level of organization was incredibly professional. From the lighting and production to the walkouts and the energy of the crowd, everything felt like a high-level fight night.
